Anything to do with the swimming side of the club.

Forum Time Trials – WSC Provisional Results

Please note that this list contains a number of the DQ’s. Most of these were for fundamental errors such as moving on the blocks, turn onto front in backstroke, 1 handed finish in breast, going early. We asked the officials to be strict which they definitely were but as they did not write down the DQ Codes and only descriptions it would take up a huge amount of resource to translate each and every one. Therefore please don’t hesitate to grab me at session or on email and I’ll update you individually.

Equipment / Kit Required – Teaching Groups

Note From our Head Teacher

All swimmers who are in teaching groups and either currently swim or propose to swim in lengths classes will need to invest in a pair of training fins.

A lot of the drills we will use in teaching lengths to improve stroke utilise these training fins. Swimmers without fins will be slower and unable to do some of these drills.

Training fins are SHORT not long and every swimmer who proposes to swim in teaching lengths groups on Friday (Wellington) and Sunday (Wrekin) will need these.

We have some in stock already which are for sale at £10 per pair. These are stocked at Wellington so see me either Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday to see if we have your child’s size. Once your child has grown out of these you can then swap them for a larger pair at no additional cost.

I will ensure that we have 1 size of each to try, as we will undoubtedly need to order more. This is not an optional extra this will be a necessary item and we require every swimmer to be kitted out by the end of October.

Lanes with swimmers with fins and without fins do not work and can be dangerous so, from November 1st onwards, please ensure your child attends the session with the correct equipment or they may not be able to swim.

This applies at ALL Sharks groups and ALL Piranha swimmers who attend Friday and/or Sunday.

If you have any questions regarding this please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Diddys – 4th in round 1

Round 1 – 18th April 2015 – Stafford

An impressive start for Wellington’s Diddy Team first venture into the much improved standard of division 2.

Finishing in a very respectable fourth and only a few points from 3rd the team should be very proud of their all round performance at the Stafford Leisure Centre on Saturday.

Some notable individual performances from Rhys Helliwell and Sam Pryce:

A hat-trick for Rhys (12u 50m Fly, 11u 50m Breast, 11u 50m fly) and Sam taking the 10u 50m free.

With many of the Wellington team making their first appearance in competitive swimming and recording points in ALL races, the future for our Diddy squad looks bright over the coming few years.

Well done to all swimmers and helpers on the day and especially Jane Dudson in organising a very well run event at the first attempt. And good luck for Round 2.
